I'm such a blouse gal and you all know how much I love Cleo inspired necklaces so as you can imagine I'm very drawn to these looks for A/W '11. I also find the skirt design to be sexy & fun and this last dress is so cute (although personally I would button up look #3 & 4 just a bit...I'm never one to blatantly flash the goods.)

Spring Glamour
Gorgeous cover of Kate for Vogue Nippon May '11. The red lipstick with the pink feather dress is absolutely fabulous and her cuff is amazing, the look is simple, sleek and totally glamourous.
My heart still breaks for the people of Japan and I pray the nuclear power plant can be contained! Now that radiation is pouring into the sea who knows what will happen next...we need renewable energy everywhere a.s.a.p.

San Diego Magazine April '11
Julia Wheeler, Alexis Garrett, Mrs. Lilien and I are in San Diego Magazine this month giving some entertaining tips. It was super fun to do this with two of my close friends and really great to finally meet Mrs. Lilien who is as lovely in person as she is on her blog. Just thought I'd share....

Perfect S/S '11 Sweaters
Love these two looks from FOAM magazine, you often need thin sweaters for nights in SD during the "warmer months" and these would be perfect. One of my dearest friends Monica works for the magazine, we had breakfast yesterday and I told her how much I liked this editorial. She told me they get some of the best in the biz to work on shoots because many people want to be apart of something unique. I've always been a fan of this So Cal beach lifestyle magazine for the younger ladies and there really isn't anything else like it, if you haven't seen it yet check it out.

Marching Forward
It's the last weekend in March and what better way to round out the month than with these two fabulous shots from Vogue Mexico April '11. They're filled with such strong and decisive colors, it's so fire and water represented perfectly. Speaking of the elements don't forget about Earth Hour tonight at 8:30 PM, it's one hour for the world to collectively be in the dark to protest climate change. For more on its history go to Happenstance. (Haydee's photo is incredible!)
P.S. I dedicate this post to my mother, she passed away 5 1/2 years ago and I felt her presence strong this morning, I love when that happens. She was a beautiful brunette like Crystal Renn, a fashion maven in her younger days and she always wore red nail polish.

Meredith Kahn
Love these jewels and the entire theme of this collection, they're seemingly super hero inspired which we know I'm gravitating towards...strong, chic and sexy is a great look! The third picture in general is rocking my world, the styling is fantastic and I'm so into all the chains. I've been collecting and selling many similar lately and how's the hottie with the tattoos and gold linked bracelets?? I don't know if all men would look as good bejeweled in this fashion but he sure wears it well.
Happy Friday, enjoy the weekend!

Elizabeth Taylor~Icon
Elizabeth Taylor was like no other, she was the biggest movie star the world has ever seen and literally wrote the manual on being a star (which makes sense since her career began at age 9). She bewitched me when I was a child, I saw National Velvet and fell in love. Something about her was very otherworldly, in her heyday she lived amongst a sea of blond goddess yet still reigned supreme.
Married 8 times we saw publicly why she was so good..the dramatic nature of life ran through her blood and played out on film for the world to see. (She and love Richard Burton stared in 12 different productions together exposing and infusing their passion into their roles, some were the greatest movies of all time.) She was a living legend, an incredible activist, a truly amazing woman (the first to have legal control over her image in Hollywood) and as we see here a style icon. She will never be forgotten but always remembered as one of unequivocal beauty, sex appeal, talent and true grit.

The Wild West
My Western roots are coming to the forefront lately and this editorial from Marie Claire April '11 is speaking my native language, loving these hot looks. I'm also spellbound by her hair, I want mine long again!

InStyle's "If Money Were No Object"...
I love perusing this list under "Were Obsessed", there's always amazing finds like the gorgeous ones above but if money is an object then just look to these styles for inspiration...Bold cuffs in gold and green would be fun this s/s'11, you can easily find them if you look (I'll be on the hunt as well). Pick up some fabulous dangly crystal or rhinestone earrings for a special event, wedding or fabulous night out and if you have a cocktail ring either bought or passed down please, put it on! I know too many ladies scared to wear fabulous jewels their grandmother's gave them and I can't understand why. (They would want you to...)

Wondrous Woman
I'm sure you've all come to realize I have very strong social and political opinions and I also have a sort of super hero fantasy to boot. I had to laugh when I saw this editorial from Amica's April issue because it reminded me of a modern day chic wonder woman of sorts, just the kind of look I would like to run around in while saving the world (as long as it was warm). But really how gorgeous are these shots?? I heart brown, taupe and variations of big time, always have...
